Motorbike racing is a very thrilling activity. It's a very exciting hobby, but it is also risky. For some racers, the fun they get from motorcycle racing is worth the risks. If you are one of these people, you just have to make the necessary preparations to make sure that the risk factor is reduced. To ensure your safety when joining a motor race, read the article for tips on how to prepare and behave as a motorcycle racer.
Preparations before the motorbike race
One of the first steps in joining a motorbike race is to shop for the riding gear. The riding gear includes riding pants, protectitve jacket, gloves, boots, and DOT-approved helmet. You have to choose a jacket that is not too loose or too tight. You have to choose jackets that are comfortable enough and will not restrict your movements. The pants should be comfortable and should offer you enough protection. Aside from your gear, you also have to check your motorbike. Make sure that the engine is in good condition. Check the tires and the braking system.
The right attitude for motorcycle racers
A motorcycle racer should possess an undying desire to win in a fair game. A good racer should be goal-oriented and should driven by his or her passion to win the game. Another attitude that a motorbike racer should exhibit is sportsmanship. Despite one's desire to win, he or she has to accept defeat with grace. It also pays if the racer has a positive attitude. Positive attitude gives one the energy and motivation to focus on one's potential to win the race.
Motorbike racing is really a very interesting activity. Whether you are a pro or a first timer, the tips above will help you prepare for and develop the right attitude before, during, and after the race.

It will be a fight to the finish between two relentless teams for the 2006 AMA Ford Quality Checked Flat Track Twins chamionship. With the Screamin' Eagle versus Quality Pre-Owned Ford Harley-Davidson match, the last four races will be crucial to test their agility and speed. Although Chris Carr led the initial race tracks, Screamin' Eye is still headstrong, hoping that the team will make it to the end. If there's a dominating theme in motorcycle racing, it is to vow never to give up or let up without reaching the finish line.

Kenny Coolbeth was all mighty and hopeful, yet he fell short on winning against Chris Carr of the Ford Harley-Davidson team. The Screamin' Eagle racer finished second, a runner-up for the Hagerstown track. Conceding his defeat, Coolbeth was looking forward to another mano-a-mano with Carr. This time, he promised to dig up dirt past his racing rival. The head-on continues this season while Coolbeth's team is already gearing up for road vengeance. A loss may never trifle their racing spirit. Anyway, it will be fun to see them race to death!

Better luck next time! Kenny Coolbeth will have to wait next year before he attempts to break a winning streak by Chris Carr. It was one tough race for the Hagerstown battle but Carr made his way around to prevent the Screamin' Eagle driver from inching his way past victory. Chris Carr of the Ford Harley-Davidson team was 12 points ahead to the finish line. In this particular duel between Carr and Coolbeth, every point was crucial. One lost swerve and you back off from speed and trail behind your nemesis. Luckily for Carr, he's got a winning charm for speed and flexibility.

Slithering like snake, blazing with the speed of light, and they're not superheroes. They're just motocross racers minus the red cape. Even if they're all geared up to avoid the slightest scratch, they can't stamp out disaster out of their chosen course of action. A skid off the tracks and they're in danger. But an instinctive swerve can give them even a second's lead past their opponent. They get the same thrill and action like Peter Parker and Clark Kent, only this time it's real. Motocross racing is like a game of snakes and ladders. One minute you're on your way up, the other minute you're on your way down. Bumpy curves can't say for sure which path you're going to land. It's one great show, so I'm watching closely who will win the Toyota AMA Motocross Series race.
Monday, April 30. 2007
If they say that practice makes perfect, then Rick Carmichael is on the bright side of winning a grand slam for the Toyota AMA Mototcross Series race. He led the timed-practice at the round 7 of the Thunder Valley Motocross Park in Lakewood, Colorado. He sure was lucky with a Makita Suzuki rushing for a 2 second-lead from series rival James Stewart. It was close but sorry for Stewart, there is no runner- up in racing. Motocross is definitely in no search for a good racer, only the best driver with agility, faith, and strength. If Carmichael can make a solid finish after the practice, then it will be his sixth Toyota series title. And I bet he won't let Stewart come too close in grabbing the title.
Sunday, April 29. 2007
Better luck next time, the runner-ups have to do better on the actual Toyota AMA Series race. James Stewart should strive further than 2:13.468 if he wishes to catch up on Rick Carmicheal who posted the best time of 2:11.097. I know, 2 damn seconds! But he needed it desperately so he can speed up on his competitive stance in the winning the race. Close enough is not good enough in motocross racing. Stewart has to make comeback after a crash at Unadilla. Besides Carmichael, he has to watch out for Timmy Ferry who made finished third at 2:14.408. Ferry's been training nearby Colorado Springs. He may pull out a surprise on Stewart and Carmichael. We'll see if this training can make a difference.

You may be swathed with all the protective gears, but the actual hazards of motorcycle racing will always loom your track. Common injuries in racing are ACL tears, shoulder dislocations, clavicle fractures, AC separations, and ankle sprains. Your limbs will always get the strain from impact, and pressure which is very common among motorcycle racers. Most of the time treatment will require braces if you're fortunate, but others need a more aggressive measures like surgery.
Saturday, April 21. 2007
Other racers seem to be always encountering injury whenever they race but they do not mind at all. It's as if injuries are a part of their doctrines in racing. I have a racing buddy, Alfred, who suffered from a head concussion. The doctor advised him to give up racing and let it heal for months. He was racing as early as 13 and he couldn't dare give up the thrill so he didn't heed the warning. The last race was a pure disaster. He skidded off the road after a fellow rider recklessly hit his bike. A result, he lost balance and his tires squeaked and almost exploded. Good thing there were paramedics nearby. So you see, a racer's injury and mishap is not solely related to skill. He can suffer a great deal from other rider's recklessness and lack of better judgment.
Friday, April 20. 2007
On his last accident, Alfred suffered a head injury and he fell in coma for a few days. He survived, but his family advised him to quit for he could be also be a danger to other race track riders. The doctor feared that he had accumulated too much arm and joint injuries that it may manifest its real pain and effects in the near future. For that matter, although racers are aware of the risks and safety in racing, they should be reinforced to take a break from speed when health is already at stake. The problem is they embrace more life than fear when racing.

When you dig up dirt in motocross, we only see the thrill and adventure of speed in rough and bumpy terrains. It's exhilarating and it's wild. Every time you race, you don't only imbibe the perk of freedom and competition, you also sign up to risk and danger. Although racers are geared up for safety, you can always hurt a knee.
One of my motorcycle racing fears is the ACL tear. I know that Motocross is a man's turf where there's no room for crying. Unfortunately, I've seen a fellow racing aficionado suffer a great deal with his knee. They call it tear of the anterior cruciate ligament.
In motocross, your knee is always strained from relentless pressure in landing and in exerting the rigorous effort to swerve and lurch from the road tracks. It's common among racers, but my friend John even had to undergo surgery to treat his knee. Seeing his apprehensive girlfriend fidget in fear was almost unbearable for me. Not that it's life-threatening, but I realized that any minute in motocross can change a lifetime. Good thing there are also knee braces for the ACL tear. So every time I race, I get to see my doctor and therapist to have my knee checked regularly.

For every action flick, the sweeping formula is for audience to teeter on the edge of danger. With the Mission Impossible trilogy, we've seen air crafts gloom the skies with horror while cars overturn on the road. But the ultimate show is the two-wheel drive. It focuses more on the stunt's flexibility and captivating sequence shots. It has become a bad boy apparel and accessory for Hollywood hunks and a sure formula hit for moviegoers on the look for a wild goose chase.
If there's one lousy motorbike movie, it has to be the " BikerBoyz". I agree with critics when they say that the father-son drama doesn't mesh with the motorcycle speed in racing. And Lawrence Fishburne in leather and tight pants? Now I don't see him as a cool daddy either!
Even if it flopped to my sense of appeal, I will have to say that I learned something new about racing. Nix off the teenage boy angst and the cool father trauma. I'd rather dwell more on its racing feeds. When Lawrence Fishburne raced, he thought of nothing but the road. He's oblivious of the cheering crowd and all he saw was what lies ahead. He's the king and he moved like one with his motor bike. Every skid equaled to every sway of his body and every speed equaled the courage and determination in him.
I think it's one of the best tricks in racing. Never mind your opponent, never mind the swerve. You are in control and you dictate the flow. Listen to nothing else but your instinct for riding. At least that would be the movie's clincher! For a minute, I saw Fishburne soften up when he trailed the wind on his own visceral feat.

Motorcycling is one activity that possesses inherent danger. In World's Most Amazing Videos, I saw a lot of real-life motorcycle mishaps and accidents. Most of the videos presented were accidents that happened to race car drivers in a track. Every footage was really disturbing to watch. However, producers of the show did not only mean to terrify people about the danger of motorcycling but they also emphasized the importance of considering first the safety of yourself before you hop and run your motorbike.
Though riders cannot avoid accidents, they may still minimize its fatal and dangerous aftermath when they are equipped with the right knowledge, skills, and motorcycle protection gears and apparels. An expert motorcycle racer will advice a novice to develop essential road techniques and maneuvers that will help him especially in moments of accident. Some of these tactics include motorcycle controls like emergency braking, skillful turning around curvy roads, navigating muddy routes, and coping with hazardous weather conditions. When it comes to wearing proper protective clothing, a rider must make sure that he has a helmet, gloves, boots, or shoes that cover the ankles' long sleeve shirt or jacket and long pants. There are different brands of motorcycle apparel available in the market today that you can choose from. Choose one that can give you ultimate protection and is comfortable to use.

If you know Valentino Rossi, you would know that he is the youngest racer to have won the 125ccm 250cc and 500cc MotoGP world titles. The motorcycling Grand Prix is the leading type of motorcycle racing which is classified into three classes: the 125cc, the 250cc, and the MotoGP which can reach the 990cc. For me, MotoGP is among the most exciting sport activities around.
The first motorcycle racing championship of the world was established by the Federacion Internationale de Motocyclisme or FIM back in 1949. The racing calendar as of the moment is comprised of seventeen rounds in fifteen various countries. In 2005, the flag-to-flag rule was imposed. This means that officials would use flags to signal events. A red flag is used when rain starts pouring mid race. When a racer collides and or crashes, the track officials wave the yellow flag to indicate that the area is not passable. There are two types of crashes-- the lowside and the highside. Lowside crash happens when a motorbike fell onto the closest side towards the ground and highside when a motorbike spins towards the reverse side of a turn.
Though MotoGP-raced bikes looked amazing, they are not produced for general acquisition. These motorbikes are made from costly materials like titanium and are designed for MotoGP racing as well as for boasting the manufacturer's competency in terms of technical works and design. The 250cc and 125cc motorcycles are available for the general market, but such bikes are extremely expensive.

Motorcycle racing is one of the most greatly followed active outdoor sports today. It may be a pretty dangerous kind of sport, but still a great deal of sport enthusiasts especially the adventurous types have resorted to it. I just confine myself to watching this sport either personally or on TV because I do not have that much guts to race for life. Yes, it is indeed very life and health threatening. It is good that nowadays, races get to wear some sorts of protective gears and gadgets in order to shield them just in case any untoward event transpires.
This motorcycle jacket from Vega Nitro ensure a relative degree of safety and protection because it is not only stylish, but durable as well. This protective jacket is also windproof, waterproof, abrasion, breathable, and has a shell that is stain-resistant. It comes in different colors to match various tastes. There are certain parts of the jacket that are removable for riding convenience and comfort. Its grips for zipper are so tailored to suit the pants and other accessories. Other parts are also adjustable still for your comfort. These and several other features of this jacket promise not just protection, but durability and comfort in equal forms.

For sports enthusiasts who seem to can't get enough of the kicks and buzz of an extreme sport, then here's another one to watch out for. Supercross is a race sport involving off-road motorcycles that show off each other's skills in a man-made dirt track. These dirt tracks are usually indoors usually in large football fields or stadiums and are composed of obstacles that bikers should traverse.
As an off-shoot of motocross, supercross promises to be anything but boring. However, this game could be deadly when bikes fly across each other on a collision. That's why it has to be regulated by a motorcycle association to make sure that everybody abides by the rules. The event is composed of a set of races apart from the main race or main event. It can go as far as 20 laps or as short as only 6 lapses and usually lasts only for 22 minutes.
Supercross events are more common in the United States than in European countries. You won't see European motocross racers joining a supercross. However, because of international events and competitions outside of the US featuring this sport, we would likely see Europeans loving supercross.

My uncle who lives in Texas has a five acre land which he has not yet put into good use. My cousins and I are planning to create our own motocross track, since we are all motorcycle aficionados. Having our own track would really save money for us in the long run. We could open our track for business and we could practice on it at the same time.
The main concern about your own motorcycle track is the environmental aspect of it. It is vital that you build a track on a private land property. That way, you will not affect other people and the community, as well. When building your own track, you should not destroy everything that is planted on the area. You can just use parts of land which you think is safe enough for you and for the environment. It's always better to ride around with green trees around you, isn't it?
So, if you have the money and you have what it takes to build your very own motorcycle track, then, plan wisely. It is not a small thing to build a monstrous track in your backyards. Just think that it's going to be a long-time investment for you and your motorcycle career.

The carefree life on the road can be best experienced riding a bike. You become one with nature as you feel the wind blows. The roadside scenes are like interconnected cascading images of people, places, and events as they momentarily exist in the unceasing flow of time. Riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle is about forgetting all your troubles behind.
The distance you will traverse is equivalent to the distance of your worries. Nonetheless, this does not necessarily mean that motorbike riders are irresponsible individuals. Life on the road is also full of perils and challenges. The common public images of a rider as a bum and trouble-maker are not totally true. The pioneer American hippy riders of the 1970’s were social idealists, longing for a more peaceful world devoid from any destructive ideologies.
Harley riders are usually organized groups. There are even religious evangelical organizations riding Harleys. They travel and preach to various isolated communities of the United States. They conduct motorcycle race and motorcycle shows and exhibitions every year to raise money for various causes. These races are usually conducted in interstate highways. Proceeds from these motorcycle races are contributed to charities and NGOs. Some of the race proceeds are allocated to credible stock investments to further increase their value. Profits are then invested to fund charitable projects. Most of these civic activities are overwhelmed by bad publicities about the rider community.

Motorcross is a type of racing that involves large race tracks and incorporates natural terrains in the course. There are jumps and exhibitions done in motorcross. For motorcycle lovers, this is a spectacle.
Motorcross is enjoyed by all motorcycle lovers. There are women and kids categories in motorcross. Special rider training and skills is needed so you can join and lead this type of motorcycle race. Of course, riders are required to use protective suits and helmets to prevent them from acquiring deadly injuries.
This professional race is measured by times. You win this race depending on your lap times, although some competitions are based on tricks and exhibitions done by the rider. The usual race will last for 30 minutes. If the racer is on its last two laps, he will be given a signal. This will give him an idea to strike up a strategy for him to win. The last lap determines his record time.
Motorcycles that are used in motorcross are very speedy and can accelerate at high speeds on a quick time. You can use finely tuned two-stroke or four-stroke motorcycles in motorcross. Other professional riders like to modify their motorcycles to get a better chance of winning the race.
Motorcross racing is an exciting event that any thrill-seeker will enjoy.

Watching racers is quite ordinary for us but a girl riding a big bike and racing? That's just cool.First, it shows how equal men and women are. Women are no pushovers and they have proven that what men can do, women can do better. Racing for women is a good past time too. It can be a form of exercise for them. They get to enjoy and learn a lot about driving.
Thunder Valley Racing is an automobile racing promotions, marketing, and management company created to develop women race car drivers. They promote women and their rights to race. This company helps a lot in empowering women and showing to the people what a woman is capable of.
So who says that checkered prints are just for women's clothes?

Bike racing is among the many favorite past times or hobbies of men and women. When they ride their bikes at great speed, it is exciting. Truly, this can be the best as well as dangerous thing they can do in their lives.

Motocross comes from the words "motorcycle" and "cross-country". It is a sport that has evolved from the backwoods country to become a premiere motor sport.
There are two races in motocross. The first one is an all-out race against other competitors and the second one is also another race, but this time the rankings are sorted out by the positions of the winners of the first race. Positions are given points, and the highest score wins the race.
Racers use off-road bikes, and unlike other racing vehicles, they are readily able to participate with little or no modifications.

The roar of the crowd almost matches the roar of the mighty 1000cc engines as they rev up for the race. Every rider is intent on riding hard, turning hard and winning this race. Their professional lives depend on it. Their personal lives depend on it. Their sponsors depend on it.
The light goes green, and with a mighty roar, these magnificent, two to four stroke engines barrel out of the starting lanes. The motorcycles come from all over, from the exotic isles of Japan to the green hills of Italy. This is a truly international event.
The track is a winding, twisted affair, testing the skill and endurance of every rider. In the end, only the best bike and the best rider will be the first to cross the finish line.
This is the World Superbike Championship.
