By now, I know you've heard how many damn racers and riders have collided off the road to a tree, gutter, and even dumb old posts. You are very well aware of the risks and perils of a two-wheel drive, but what will change your mind to actually consider riding into one? There are actually three. You can park it anywhere, you can save energy, and it's cheaper. Think about the perks of a motorcycle ride.

The fuel prices are going berserk in the world market. If America can only build its own oil pipe line, then it will solve half of America's energy crisis. Maybe Bush is contemplating on it so for now, a motor bike is your good alternative. It is high in fuel efficiency and low in pollution. You can be Captain Planet and at the same time you can trail the road with more money on your pocket.

Do you know how many cars are repossessed every year for failing to pay debt and loan? I can only assume that lots of people worry about it. So why don't you resort to a cheaper alternative? A motorbike is flexible, convenient, and easy to maintain. Maybe motorcycles will be just the perfect ride for you!

In the world of dangerous motorbike racing, motorcycle manufactures seem to be in constant competition as well. Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, and Honda are continuously improving their motorcycles trying to outdo one another. They have all bragged about producing the lightest motorcycle around. In my opinion, a motorcycle's speed does not matter that much. What counts a lot for me is a model than display great quality, durability, and promotes general safety.
For instance, Honda has been claiming the lightest motorcycle until Kawasaki collaborated with Suzuki and produced a much lighter motorcycle, the KX250F. It is said that this motorcycle weighs only 214 pounds without the fuel in it. But then the battle continues, this year we will soon be amazed again with the latest and lightest motorcycle, the Kawasaki/Suzuki 250cc MX motorcycle which is the perhaps the class' lightest. This is just a better innovation of the previous model with four powerful strokes and several other great features which cannot be found with the other alternatives. I am pretty sure, a lot of racers and riders out there are in great anticipation about this motorcycle which will surely hit the market by storm at the soonest possible time upon its launch.

For active outdoor sports like motorbike racing, here is another latest motorbike from Yamaha that will surely hit the market very soon. It is even dubbed as the ultimate 2006 supersport contende. This motorbike will surely salivate every motorbike riders and racers because it boasts of its bigger and powerful bore that measures 67 mm v 65.5 mm and a stroke that is shorter at 42.5 mm v 44.5 mm. I have seen the picture and parts of this motorbike in details and I must say that it is indeed a great motorbike that is worth-buying.
This latest motorbike also comes with a stratospheric at 17500 rpm redline. The ratios for gear box has been altered in order to match the first of the gears. It is taller now at 2.583 v 2.846 having a pretty smaller gap with the second of the gears. It also sports a pitch for the chain at #532. This new motorbike is a little shorter when it comes to height but it has a little increase in width. The same components of breaks have been used just like the previous one. These and other interesting and superior features of this motorbike will surely make every rider proud and satisfied. I have nothing, but admiration for this company that does not cease to revolutionize and enhance their great collection of motorbikes.

I just got myself a kick-ass mini bike for my birthday. I may be an adult but I'm still a kid by heart. Anyway, mini bikes are not just for kids. Kids can't even ride mini bikes! Mini bikes are just smaller versions of the monster motorcycles. These tiny bikes are good to go for fun motorcycle races and it can become a darn good entertaining sport. You can use the mini bike around your neighborhood, but I don't think that it's for expressway riding, go figure man.
If you're thinking that mini bikes are for short-term uses, they're not. Some people might say that they easily fall apart and such. Well, if you just don't take good care of them, they would certainly break down in your own garage! The best way to keep 'em working is to use them properly. They're just like ordinary cars -- you drive them too fast, they burn up. You gotta' ride your mini bikes according to their capacity.
The best way to maintain your mini bikes is to use them regularly. That way, the parts would be well oiled up and well-used. You gotta' ride your mini bikes in a good speed, too. You shouldn't ride on them too slowly because the clutch would most likely be damaged. Also, you should not change your mini bike tires into another tire size. That's why they're called "mini" bikes, get the idea? Lastly, whenever you're riding your mini bike around, don't rest your foot on brakes. In doing so, you are literally destroying your own mini bike. So, just do everything accordingly and you get to use your mini bike until your next birthday, and the next.

I have seen so many motorcycle riders soak themselves under the unpredictable rain downpour. Hey, you'll never know when it's coming down, do you? So, the best way to avoid getting sick because you're a motorcycle rider, is to always bring your handy motorcycle rain suit. Even if you think that it won't really rain, you still need to be on the safe side.
If you think that you're only traveling for as far as the next fast food restaurant, you still need to bring your rain suit with you. Motorcycle rain suits are made to protect your bodies against all sorts of weather conditions. So, even if it's not really raining, the suit would protect your body from wind burns and even unnecessary flying objects. If you don't feel like throwing on a thick jacket under the sun's heat, throw on your rain suit.
Motorcycle rain suits are made of breathable fabric. It's laminated and it's waterproof. It's actually a protective gear for all kinds of weather conditions. So, you don't need to buy this and that for every weather condition, a motorcycle rain suit is enough to protect you while you ride away.

I think that motorcycle riders are the coolest when it comes to awesome gears and accessories. I see Harley riders by the Sunset Boulevard and I get so psyched seeing them with their cool shades on and their vintage leather jackets. But, of course they don't wear them just to be trendy and cool.
I saw the Gatorz motorcycle sunglasses in an optical shop downtown. They looked so amazing. They're "fully customizable" and they can be worn even with helmets on. The Gatorz sunglasses can also have completely polarized lenses. This enables the motorcycle riders to ride their bikes even with the strongest sun glare.
The sunglasses are the best eye protection for motorcycle riders. You'll never know what the wind might suddenly blow on your face, more importantly your eyes. The Gatorz sunglasses have several styles and colors. You can just choose which fits your face the best. They're stylish and they're the best when it comes to protection. So, if you want to look like the coolest motorcycle rider around town, opt for the Gatorz sunglasses. You'll definitely feel like the most amazing rider there is.

One time, I played a PlayStation 2 game with Ricky Carmichael in it. It was a motorcycle game that I can't get enough of. I was so awed by the motorcycle stunts that I suddenly began to take interest in this Ricky Carmichael guy. To my surprise, he is one of the greatest motorcycle riders, ever. He had so many highlights in his career. I did not know where to begin reading. He is a record-setter in the Motocross biz. Until now, no one has taken his place as the best Motocross racer.
Ricky Carmichael won each race from 1996 to 1998. In the year 1999, he had a serious injury so he wasn't so active in the motorcycle department. By 2000, he had won nine over-all victories at the Motocross Championships. It was really a great way to make a comeback. He raced for the team Chevy Trucks Kawasaki. At that same time, he won five series podium finishes. These victories earned him the series title. By this time, Ricky Carmichael is only 27 years of age. At his short span of time in the motorcycle biz, he had achieved so much. I am looking forward for more Ricky Carmichael racing actions.

There is no better feeling in the world than cruising the streets and feeling the wind on your hair. To be able to do this, you need to ride the right motorcycle. I think the best motorcycle for this job is the 2006 version of the Vulcan 2000 by Kawasaki.
This Kawasaki model is one of the fastest motorcycles around. The reason for this its manufacturers have now made it lighter. In order to do this, they replaced the bulky parts with lighter materials. As such, its aerodynamic efficiency has been greatly increased.
One more good thing about this bike is that it has very comfortable seats. Even when you have been on it for hours, you would not get tired because of its comfortable saddle-like seats. Aside from that, the fuel capacity of the bike was also increased. Now, it can hold up to 5.5 gallons of fuel. This can greatly lessen your constant fuel stops in gasoline stations. With all these features at such an affordable price, the 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan is definitely a wise investment. It is also the world-class vehicle of man that you can keep for a long time.

You probably know how useful a motorcycle is. You probably love your motorcycle maybe more than your pet dog. But you probably did not know that there are some countries where people use the motorcycle as a source of living.
Let's look at the Philippines for example. One of the main transportation of the people here aside from the famous jeepney is the tricycle. Motorcycles are attached with an especially built coaster or sidecar to carry passengers. Sometimes one tricycle can carry up to ten passengers. Four to five passengers inside, two at the back of the driver, two at the back of the sidecar and another two on the roof. These drivers usually earn 500 pesos or more or less 10 US dollars.
Most third-world countries, especially in Asia, rely on motorcycle to earn a living and provide for their family. This is the cheapest form of transportation that poor people from these countries patronize.
So next time you polish your motorbike, think of it as more than a toy but a lifesaver for many people. Tell that to your wife the next time she tells you love your bike more than your dog.

Ducati is the foremost manufacturer and innovator in motorcycle design. They are made for speed and durability. Aside from these they have created handsome motorcycle designs for years.
To pay tribute to the past, Ducati produces their Sports Classic design. Included in this line up is the Ducati Sports Classic GT1000. A cushioned seat is incorporated to provide comfort to the biker and his backride. A silencer exhaust made with dual chrome is in the design to make the quality "vroom" sound that Ducati is famous for. Ducati GT1000 has a 992 cc, L-twin, air-cooled engine. Modern specifications like high beam indicator, oil pressure and low fuel warning light is included in the main instrument features of the GT1000. The tubular steel trellis and the spoke wheel with aluminum rim makes this motorbike truly a classic.

Harley Davidson manufactures, what I believe, is the most handsome motorcycles in the world. They are probably the most popular motorcycle brand there is. Almost every country has groups or organizations of Harley Davidson motorcycle owners. This tough brand is what big bikers use. They have a bad-boy reputation. This 2006, Harley Davidson launches their 2006 motorcycles. Among their line-up is their patented and registered unique design of Softail bikes. These bikes are made for the tough road. Why choose to tour the country in a car when you can take the road on a motorcycle? Get a better feel of the surroundings. Smell the cold, fresh air. Drive with the breeze. Get the picture? Then get a bike made for touring.
Aside from standard motorcycles and race motorcycles, there are special touring motorcycles manufactured especially for those long road trips around the country. They are built bigger and have more storage. They also are quite faster than your standard motorbike. It is especially designed to give comfort to the rider and its passenger.
Some new ones that are manufactured also come with an audio system. Speakers are built-in on the bike and optional CD players or changers can be installed, too. A stereo system is there to give background music to the ride of your life.
Unlike driving in cars on mountainsides, motorcycles will give you the feeling of riding like the wind. Although some say it is unsafe, wearing helmets is a way to keep you protected when riding. Cars may be too restricted for some. Motorcycles are for the fearless and adventurous. And if you've played in the rain, then you can imagine how good touring with a motorbike feels.

Okay, I'm confused too. I'm confused about what a scooter really is. Some scooters can be considered a toy. Some can be considered motorcycles, although all motorcycles are toys to some extent.
Wait, I know I'm just confusing you more with this logic.
Let's just say, scooters are sometimes considered toys when they're especially made for kids. They're made safe and do not really need gasoline to run. Usually, they're run through some kind of Flintstones maneuver, using just one feet. It's a skateboard with bike handles. Got it? Get it. Good.
Scooters that are made for grown-ups like us are more like your usual motorbike. It's a motorcycle only it is cheaper and it has less speed. It is quite easy to operate but as I've said it can't outrun your Suzuki, much less your Ducati or Harley.
The distinct difference between motorbikes and scooters is the way you hop on them. With motorbikes, you have to spread your legs and put it up on the other side, just like how you would climb up a horse. While with scooters, you slide in front of the seat, just like how you would squeeze in a group of people to get your way to the other side. Got it? Get it. Good.
Well, I hope this article gave you some idea on what scooters are. Stop confusing yourself and just have fun!

The motorcyclist’s maxim could very well be “There is no such thing as a traffic jam.” Even so, that doesn’t mean every cruise along the freeway is smooth and free of danger.
Generally, the right lane is the best and safest lane for bikers, (at least for the laidback ones who don’t care for ballistic speeds and daredevil stunts). The right lane understandably separates you a good deal of distance from vehicles that abruptly turn left, so then, your only other concern is the road ahead of you, and maybe that of avoiding the island to your right side as well.
But hey, no one’s stopping you from being a daredevil. That’s what bikes are for anyway. Just remember to put on that safety helmet, and then scoot away.

The rising gas prices don't just bore a hole in your pocket, it also acts as a reminder that the world's petroleum supply is shrinking. The technology for an alternative power source for vehicles is here, but car companies have been putting off their development. Though electric sedans and SUVs are still decades away, electric motorcycles are becoming hot properties in many parts of the world.
Mopeds are cheap and relatively safe (especially for pedestrians) modes of transport, and they even get cheaper when manufacturers decide to go electric. Among electric models, I'd recommend the Rad2go E-Sunbird. For a suggested price of $673.15, the Rad2go offers an understated slim design that would overstate your own physical features. It's 100% electric so don't expect a superbike experience when you're on an E-Sunbird: top speed is 18 mph. There's a pedal option in the Rad2go. Simply remove the battery and watch yourself overtake other electric mopeds.

The ultimate redneck conveyance apparatus, VQ (vision quest) bikes are not called "easy riders" for nothing. You step on the pedal, release the clutch and just basically sit back. To make sure your arms are not too short to reach the handlebars, have your VQ Harley-Davidson customized.
VQ bikes are usually Harley-Davidson makes. They have a giant whippet shape, wherein the seat is located almost on top of the rear wheel. The handlebars are extra long for VQ bikes, and if you think this is a difficult bike to manage, imagine sitting in a Lay-Z-Boy, your nose filled with a sweaty leathery smell and the wind on your face. Even now I keep wondering why Peter Fonda never made it to the Hollywood A-list.

To say that this bike is a thing of beauty will always be an understatement. For lifetime bikers, nothing compares to a smooth ride down the highway with this amazing low rider. Through the years, bikes have been prominent means of transportation. In the movie Mission Impossible and other action packed movies as well, the motorcycles used there are awe inspiring. No wonder, a lot of motorists are changing gears and stepping up to the next level. Gone are the days when cars and four wheel vehicles dominate the scene. It has been the decade of the bikes and perhaps no factor is going to stop the rise of motorcycles to prominence. Add to that reality is the continuous development in the motorcycle industry. Everyday, new models like this in the picture conquer the market and apparently receive overwhelming responses.

BMW has finally decided to revise its R-series models. The new sport bike does not have to be conscious about being termed "Lite" because of the power from its 1085cc motor. It has finally been upgraded to a 1170cc Boxer motor that can be seen in BMW's R1200GS.
This new bike is now faster than the previous version, which only ran on 98 horsepower and on its torque of 72 lb-ft. The R1200S now claims to run on 83 lb-ft torque and it can speed up at 8250 rpm with 122 horsepower. It has also been stripped of its 40 lbs compared to the precious version.
These statistics only show a fraction of what's great about the 2006 BMW R1200S. The sleek design of the bike itself is enough to make one want to have it. On one's first look, this would look exactly like the R1100S because it still uses the triangulated steel tubing in the center and front sections, but upon further observation, one will definitely see the differences. It is more contemporary than the R1100S because of its bullet-shaped nose and because of its headlights that are asymmetrical. The grill at the back is traditional of all BMW products.

Ducati makes some changes in its Superbike line of motorcycles. The 749 Testastretta and 999 Testastretta will be joining the classics -- 748 and 998.
One can notice that the classics are bikes which seem to be still in motion even when it is at rest. This is symbolic of Ducati's looking-forward-into-the-future Italian design. One is guaranteed that he will get the highest quality performance from Ducati bikes. The road won't be too much of a problem to thread with the brake and suspension systems that the Superbikes possess.
It is of interest that the Ducati Testastretta 999 and 749 marks the evolution of the Superbikes that have been dominant for well over a decade. Surely, with the new Ducati Superbikes, one won't go out of style.
